Make up is a wonderful thing- it gives us confidence within ourselves, allows us to play with colour, and even covers up those nasty bags under our eyes from staying up far too late on Netflix the night before. Make up, I love you. But with the good comes the bad and so here are the make up products that I will definitely not be repurchasing.
Now don't get me wrong, the brands that we are about to discuss are not bad themselves (well, the majority at least, but we'll get onto that later). It's just the fact that I have tried very hard to get along with these products but now I have come to accept the fact that they and I cannot be friends. Saying this however, does not mean that they will not work for you. I am simply sharing my (not so nice) thoughts on these make up products.
First up on my list of shame is the Maybelline Dream Velvet foundation. I really didn't like this. I found the texture a little funny and the constency was way too thick for my liking. When I wore it, I felt very caked in make up and felt very heavy on my face and I don't like to wear that much on my skin so this clearly was not for me. Sorry Maybelline, but I'm going to give this one a miss next time.
The next item I would like to talk to talk about is the Rimmel Fresher Skin foundation. I would like to say now that Rimmel and I have never gotten along. In fact, I will go as far as saying that every Rimmel product that I have purchased has been a flop. I don't know what it is, but their products have never worked well on my face so I prefer to just stay away from the rimmel counter these days. The one good thing to say about this product is that it has spf in it which is always good for your skin, however this foundation was very dry and patchy on my face and didn't last long at all.
While talking up about Rimmel I thought that we should bring up their Lasting Finish soft colour blush in the colour live pink. It's a shame because the colour is rather pretty (a rosy pink colour) but their is barely any pigment when you put it onto you skin and even getting any product onto the brush was difficult.
Next from Revolution, we have their Ultra face base Primer. I have tried many primers and I must say, this is one of my least favourites. I just hated the texture- it was very slimy yet some how managed for my face to feel dry once I put it on. Needless to say, I am not a fan.
Have you ever wondered what you would look like with two streaks of mud either side of your face? Don't worry, because with Revolution's contour kit, you'll have no problem finding out! (*Roll's eyes) Okay, maybe that was a tad harsh but that what I felt like walking around all day after looking at myself in the mirror. It is not easy to blend AT ALL and once you have blended it will be guaranteed to have moved around on your face within two hours. I did not see defined cheekbones when I wore this, all I saw on my face was disappointment.
The last one is surprisingly, is from one of my favourite brands, Bourjois. The Bourjois Sculpt Light is not something that I'll be desperate to find in Superdrug next time I go in. When I wore it, the product showed up white on my face and was far to streaky for my liking. All in all, it just didn't look good. I'm sorry Bourjois, maybe next time.
As I said before, these are my personal opinions, but hopefully I helped you know what to stay away from in the drugstore next time. Do you agree with my list or do you find that some of these work for you? I'd love to know!
Gorgeous post lovely! I personally really like Rimmel! Have you tried their Kate Moss collection lipsticks? xx

I loved reading this, it's always good to see other people's thoughts on products. I haven't tried anything in this post except the Rimmel Fresher Skin foundation. The lady put it on me while I was in the store and although I didn't hate it I didn't like it enough to buy it. I totally get what you're saying with it. From Rimmel I have two of their lipsticks which I love!
